Yolanda is still recovering from that nasty bit of food poisoning last week, so don’t even mention lunch to us or we might smack you. Obviously, writing about a chef and his culinary creations is the last thing we’d like to do today. But duty calls and we give the people what they want. Apparently they want to read about Curtis Stone‘s big new house, so here we are cookin’ up today’s story.
Food prep can actually be a very profitable business if y’all know how to market yourselves correctly. The Australian Mr. Stone, now in his early 40s, is one of those “celebrity chefs” who might be better-known for being famous than for the actual food creations he whips up in the kitchen. Still, he’s got a legitimate resume — he was chef at the five-star Savoy Hotel in Australia and at the equally posh Quo Vadis club in London. Our Mr. Stone honed his talents in the kitchen as a young boy under the watchful eyes of his mother and grandmother, both reportedly excellent (but non-professional) cooks.

Since 2002, however, Mr. Stone has not actually worked as a chef. Rather, he has parlayed his culinarian talents into a variety of entrepreneurial and profile-boosting endeavors. He has appeared on The Celebrity Apprentice, Iron Chef America, Top Chef Masters, Take Home Chef, My Restaurant Rules, The Biggest Loser, various Food Network shows, and a myriad of other television programs. He has also become quite wealthy by signing an exclusive contract with NBC, lending his name to a brand of cutlery, and arranging a lucrative deal to serve as the TV “ambassador” for Coles Supermarkets in Australia.
Our Mr. Stone became so famous in the foodie world — without actually having been a chef in many years — that Eater.com even published a rather funny article entitle Who The Hell Is Curtis Stone? back in 2011, lamenting about how he became such a star without even owning or cooking in a restaurant. Since then, however, Mr. Stone has proved the haters wrong by opening not one but two successful hotspots — he owns both Maude and Gwen in Los Angeles.
Yolanda has never been to Gwen, but we have been to Maude and can attest to the food being excellent. And five years after posting their original article, Eater.com has since begrudgingly admitted that Mr. Stone “isn’t just a pretty face“. So there you have it!
For the last five years, Mr. Stone has been married to actress Lindsay Price, best-known for her stint on the Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot. The couple now have two young sons, so it was clearly time for a residential upgrade.

The Brentwood mansion selected by Mr. Stone and Ms. Price is located in the bucolic (yet seriously expensive) Mandeville Canyon neighborhood, a favorite of numerous celebrities. Documents show that the couple quietly used a blind trust to pay a hefty $7,875,000 for the property a couple months ago.

Built in 2018 and designed by Westside mansion specialist Ken Ungar, the faux-cedar-shingled manse clocks in at a generous 7,710-square-feet of living space with 5 beds and 5.5 baths, a perfect size for a wealthy young family of four. A double-gated driveway wraps around to a two-car garage, and stone steps lead up to a narrow porch.
The grand double-height entryway displays honey-colored hardwood floors that flow throughout the main rooms. To the right of the front door is living room with a fireplace; to the left is a formal dining room with a chandelier. Both sport coffered ceilings and windowed views of the front porch.

A pass-through from the dining room leads to the nearly all-white kitchen, which has swanky Calacutta marble countertops and top-of-the-line stainless appliances. We’re sure Mr. Stone will enjoy getting his chop on in here, even if the center island isn’t as big as one might expect for a nearly $8 million house.
Just beyond the kitchen is a breakfast nook overlooking the backyard, and the adjacent family room opens directly to the back terrace via a massive disappearing wall of glass. There’s also a wet bar and wine fridge for you booze hounds. Tucked into a corner downstairs is a small bedroom suite, perfect for a live-in maid/housekeeper.

Upstairs are four bedroom suites including the master. As y’all might expect, there’s a fireplace, a vaulted ceiling, and a huge bathroom with a glassy shower, dual vanities, and a soaking tub. The master closet has a center island with drawers for jewelry/accessory storage, and there’s also a private balcony overlooking the backyard.
We know this house is perfectly nice and very luxurious, but to Yolanda it’s all a bit, er, ordinary. Especially for $8 million. Were it us, we’d want a little more style, a little more color, a little more pizazz for that much moolah. But we suspect that a good decorator can partially alleviate some of those concerns. Get on it, you Price-Stones.

Somewhere downstairs there’s a movie theater, a gym/exercise room, and an office. The backyard isn’t particularly big, but it does come equipped with a covered outdoor dining area, a fireplace, a BBQ/bar center, and a grassy lawn. Tucked into the far left corner of the lot is the rectangular pool with its inset spa. Swimming whets the appetite, just so you know.
Records reveal that the big new Brentwood property is not the only LA house owned by Mr. Stone — back in 2010, when he was still an unmarried man, he forked out $3,100,000 for a Hollywood Hills house that was made available for rent over the summer at a deliciously dear rate of $16,500 per month. It appears as though the property has since been leased out.
