This Sunday was so beautiful that we had to spend it frolickin’ outdoors. But Yolanda, in her infinite wisdom and compassion, didn’t want our readers to feel neglected. So in lieu of a proper story, here’s a very quick peek at an ultra-contemporary Studio City mansion. And it just sold for $5,825,000, which is a lot of money for this part of town.
In case y’all didn’t know, DJs are the 21st century’s rockstars. With the rise of the EDM movement, they routinely headline everything from random raves to Coachella, from quinceañeras to the Grammy’s. And now they’ve got the fans, fast cars, houses and bank accounts to prove their status.
Take Alessandro “Alesso” Lindblad, a very young fella (age 27) from Sweden. Though Mr. Lindblad began DJ-ing less than eight years ago — back in 2011 — he’s already accumulated a $30 million net worth, and he was ranked #13 on DJ Mag‘s 2015 list of top DJs worldwide. So he’s got the cash — and the fame — to qualify for a very fancy bachelor pad.

The young whippersnapper has also — apparently — got some negotiating skills. Though he paid “just” the aforementioned $5.825 million, the property had been listed at a hefty $6,495,000.

Built on speculation by a local developer, the two-tone modern box features a 3-car garage, 10-car motorcourt and 6,587-square-feet of mansion-sized interior spaces on a roomy (but not huge) .37-acre hillside lot. The property is vociferously protected by gates, walls, cameras, extra-loud doorbells, etc.

Inside, the open-concept living plan is dominated by different shades of greys and off-whites, if relieved somewhat by the blondish hardwood floors. The marble-slathered kitchen includes high-end Wolf and Thermador appliances, and there’s a wine rack next to a convenient wet bar.
Disappearing walls of glass permit easy access to the backyard.

There are a total of 6 beds and 7.25 baths in the structure — including a master suite with dual bathrooms and closets, certainly enough space for a young, child-free, single (?) guy like Mr. Alesso.
For observing the valley views, there’s a rooftop terrace with an overhang directly above the pool.

The backyard is ready for a parties with a negative-edge swimming pool (and inset spa), a large grassy lawn, expansive deck for al fresco dining, and a full outdoor kitchen with BBQ.
Though supremely private — tucked way high up on a quiet, narrow road off the main drag — the house is a quick stroll down to busy-busy Ventura Boulevard, with its vast array of shopping, dining and entertainment options. Hey, even Mr. Alesso has gotta mingle with the peasants at some point.
