Here’s another Labor Day quickie for y’all. Some time ago, our friend Vlad the Revealer at Celebrity Address Aerial inquired about this petite mini-compound in the heart of LA’s fully gentrified and hipster-approved Silver Lake neighborhood. The super-compact digs sold for $1,200,000 earlier this year — a fat $211,000 more than the asking price of $989,000 and a whopping 33% more than what the seller — YouTube star Grace Helbig — paid for the property just two years prior.
The buyer’s identity is shielded behind an all-too-common blind trust, but Yolanda happens to know it’s a recently-married 32-year-old guy named James Jagger, the son of rock legend Mick Jagger and former supermodel Jerry Hall, who is currently married to multi-billionaire media mogul Rupert Murdoch. Our Mr. Jagger is also the brother of models Lizzy and Georgia May Jagger, whose new Hollywood Hills homes we recently discussed here and here.
If perchance any of y’all recall the HBO show Vinyl — cancelled after one season — you may already know that it was young Mr. Jagger who played a significant role. Anyway, our boy married artist Anoushka Sharma back in 2015 and the couple has settled into these surprisingly modest digs.

Originally built in 1937, the mini-compound sits on a narrow hillside street just off a main boulevard. A two-car garage with (an attached one-room guest cottage), a flight of stairs, and a big (but neatly-trimmed) bed of ivy greet passers-by. Up the steps is a small flat grassy pad, another flight of steps, and (finally!) the teeny-tiny 1,106-square-foot main house.

While there’s no real formal dining room, there is a built-in breakfast nook and some luscious-lookin’ hardwood floors. The compact sports a pitched roof, medium-grade appliances, and a bar area.

There are two bedrooms and only one bathroom in the entire house, which probably makes this the most compact property Yolanda has ever covered. But both bedrooms are spacious enough. The bathroom, for its part, is really tiny but it has interesting mosaic tile floors that say “1937” — a reference to the home’s original construction year.

Yes, kiddies, that is one of them old-fashioned portable spas. Don’t laugh! Long before they got all fancy and shit, Yolanda’s parents — Mr. & Mrs. Yakketyyak — had one of them things when we were growing up, too. But they’d never admit that and you did not hear it from your gurl.
The steeply-sloped .19-acre lot surely won’t win any size awards, but previous owners spent some considerable time and/or money to create a tiered hillside that adds some use (and value) to the lot.

Above the garage, as previously mentioned, is a fully-permitted room that could function as a guest bedroom, a studio, or gym. It appears Ms. Helbig was using the space as a delightfully minimalist office.
Speaking of Ms. Helbig, she’s already paid $915,000 for a slightly larger house in the nearby NELA area.
